feeling tired?

working the 3rd weekend in a row? really want to just sit on your couch and stare at the backyard with your cat on your lap? but you find yourself at the office working on a project in firedrill mode? I have the answer!

Listen to The Kleptones Uptime! Makes you forget how tired you are. If you had more energy you would dance in your chair.

What Is It About 20-Somethings? → nytimes.com

youmightfindyourself:

Why are so many people in their 20s taking so long to grow up?

Even if some traditional milestones are never reached, one thing is clear: Getting to what we would generally call adulthood is happening later than ever. But why? That’s the subject of lively debate among policy makers and academics. To some, what we’re seeing is a transient epiphenomenon, the byproduct of cultural and economic forces. To others, the longer road to adulthood signifies something deep, durable and maybe better-suited to our neurological hard-wiring. What we’re seeing, they insist, is the dawning of a new life stage — a stage that all of us need to adjust to.

I hated this article. I think the concept of ‘getting to adulthood later’ is bullshit. Nobody is grown up in their 20s. I swear, we are still forming in that decade. Maybe these 20-somethings are smarter than we were — living with their parents while they figure that shit called life out.

Besides: kids grow up faster and faster… compare generations of 10 or 12-year olds. They get into more adultish crap earlier and earlier as time goes on. So this living with the parents? big deal. They wised up faster than we did. The 20’s are hard. (and a ton of fun. Imagine having that fun while paying minimal rent and having meals cooked when you show up for dinner?)

so. worked late, got home after 9.

Then
- I notice the stars. I remembered that I can see stars where I live! (yes, this is new: no stars in SF. fog, lights, all that other stuff. no stars)
- I had a half a bottle of decent wine in the fridge
- I noticed for the first time that I can hear FROGS OUTSIDE. so. AWESOME!
- Turned on the tv (yeah, I know) but the paint ball episode of Community was on!
what the hell? so great. things are good, people.

#freaky
It was here in 2008 that parents raged against a local bar that tried to ban strollers during happy hour.
