THERE ARE WAVES IN THE TOILET BOWL
From the HOA meeting notes:
“The homeowner [in unit 144] had advised that there are waves in the toilet bowl when #142 flushes. There is no damage being done. It appears this is an annoyance to the homeowner. An inspection will be done at both units to determine if there is a plumbing “problem” to remedy.”

In fact there’s an elaborate belief system we press people adhere to, about how a foreign country may behave toward the U.S., and how it may not behave. It reminds me a little of a passage in Anna Karenina about the belief system of noblemen in Tolstoy’s day:
Vronsky’s life was...

The subtle interplay between cold modern architecture touchstones and warm organic materials has also been preserved. For instance, a living-room fireplace cover is made of woven wire cloth, but it’s been oxidized to give it the rusty patina of a Richard Serra sculpture. In the kitchen, stainless-steel appliances are softened by wood cabinets and a built-in wood banquette.

William Devane, the capitalist villain of 80’s excess from Knots Landing? HOW CAN IT GET ANY MORE PERFECT?? I thought the episode with the sensei and her showing her karate skills was the end-all. (seriously. of COURSE she’s a karate expert cuz, u know, Kill Bill and all.) but no! It got better! yay, oh yay. But still, the Emily VanCamp method-acting-like-she’s-post-botox is the...

Kyle is really only guilty of coarse manners and of being a puppyish hound, which in the bromance world is a natural state of grace, close to a benediction.
